Today's theme is texture. I struggled with this one and finally came up with a "themed" theme... I thought of my husband's sportsbike and saw that therer were various textures I could do there. Below are the results (click each one for a bigger picture)...
Texture of his motorcycle's back tire:
Texture of his jacket:
Texture of his leather gloves:

Today's theme is The Dog Days of Summer so here are a few shots of me and the girls: Ginger is a dachshund and Heidi, a new addition to the family, is a cockapoo (cocker spaniel/poodle mix). Both of them are 9 years old. The picture above took lots of tries seeing as Heidi is still not too keen to sit still near Ginger. They don't fight but Heidi prefers to stay at least 6 inches from Ginger. In the shot, Ginger, used to my camera, sits patiently and poses. Heidi, on the other hand, is being held there by the gentle nudging of my elbow. Below are a few shots of them relaxing in Houston's hot summer sun... (click each one for a bigger picture)

Today's Theme is black and white . I took two pictures from around my house.
The top one is a close up of my husband's chess set that we have set up in our "lounge". It's a really neat stylized chess set from Target. Since it is essentially black and white to begin with I thought it would be a good subject.
The bottom image is top-down view of a tea candle holder I have. It came from Pier 1. I chose to do it in black and white as well because I wanted to see how the flames turned out. I think they came out well...

Today's Theme is taste. I had to stop and think about this and then my eyes fell on my Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head salt and pepper shakers! Perfect! The staples to any dinner in case the cook was a little too liberal spare with the seasonings (I usually add some more salt, the hubby adds pepper).
At first, I had them pose all by themselves but they looked bit stiff so I opted to put them in a more comfortable setting... in front of the blender and a few cookbooks. They relaxed much more as you can see by their genuine looks of glee! Mrs. Potato Head was the shyer of the too, can't you tell?

Today's theme is adornment. I love jewelry but in moderation. For example, I will not wear earrings and a necklace at the same time, nor will I wear a bracelet and a ring on the same hand.
This particular piece is one I should wear more often... It is a vintage silver necklace from the 40-50's by an artist named Margot de Taxco. Taxco is a small town in Mexico that is a world renowned for its silver artisanship and pieces from designers like Margot fetch some high prices on eBay.
